Outlook for the future market of manganese silicon
Update:20/05/2023

Manganese and silicon: Fundamentally, both manganese and silicon production and operating rates turned around and fell last week, but they are still higher than the same period in previous years. On the demand side, the total production of the five major varieties of steel has rebounded again, and coupled with the upcoming replenishment stage of furnace materials by steel mills before winter storage, there is still some support for future demand for manganese and silicon.

On the spot end, mainstream steel bidding prices are lower than market expectations. On the cost side, the price of manganese ore has once again fallen, and production costs in various main production areas have also turned around and fallen. Overall, there is still support on the downstream demand side, but considering the lukewarm sentiment of steel recruitment and the continuous decline in manganese ore prices on the cost side, it is expected that the manganese silicon prices in the future will be weak and volatile.
